Are Slow Cookers Still Relevant Today?
I can cook, but it hasn't always been so. My diet used to consist of takeaways and ready meal.As my money got thinner my waistline got fatter. Fruit from a pie or deep fried veg were the only time I got anything remotely healthy.

Once day, everything changed. On the day I was gifted a slow cooker things began to change. Don't get me wrong, things didn't change overnight but they slowly started moving and soon I was getting up to all sorts in the kitchen.

A slow cooker might not sound all that exciting. Who would buy a slow horse? Or a slow TV? With slow in the title it isn't an easy item to promote. Slow cooker aren't always known as this, sometimes they are referred to as crock pots. In this age of instant gratification you could be forgiven for thinking they are a relic from the past that has little relevance in these face paced times.

Yes, slow cookers are slow but the amount of time you need Lets face it, slow cookers are slow but the amount of face time they require to do what they do is very small. If what you want to cook isn't too advanced you can spend very little time on the meal, just a bit of chopping and cutting and into the cooker it goes. Throw your ingredients in the pot and switch it on and then let the slow cooker do its thing. Some of these cookers even have a keep warm function that will keep the food at an edible temperature once the cooking is done until you are ready to serve it up.

So how did I get from being kitchen illiterate to a keen cooker? It was all thanks to my slow cooker.
